Lives Changed. Hope Restored. Generations Transformed.

At AfroLatins, we believe that every person has value, purpose and a future. Our greatest measure of impact is not simply how many people we reach, but what happens when a life is truly changed.

Over the years, we have seen people who were once trapped in addiction, crime and hopelessness completely transformed. We have seen broken families begin to heal, people find freedom, the sick receive prayer and healing, and men and women discover a new purpose through Jesus.

Some of the people who were once considered the most dangerous in their communities are now completely changed. Some have found honest work, restored relationships with their families and become leaders who serve God and others with their whole lives.

This is the kind of transformation we live to see.

From Prison and Addiction to Purpose

One of our favourite stories is that of Peter (name changed for his protection).

Peter came out of prison heavily involved in drugs. His life had taken him down a very destructive path, and his family had rejected him because of the person he had become.

But his story did not end there.

Through the work of God in his life, Peter was completely transformed. Today, he is one of our leaders. He has found an honest job, serves God and is slowly rebuilding relationships with the family he once lost.

The man who was once feared by others is now someone who helps lead and serve them.

That is the power of a transformed life.

Stories of Healing

We have also seen God move in powerful ways through prayer.

A Cancer Diagnosis That Changed

Recently, a woman who was very sick with cancer of the womb was prayed for by Marlien and the women at our women's ministry.

A week later, she returned with an incredible testimony.

She had been sent to a larger city for final tests before undergoing an operation. But when the doctors examined her, they found that she was completely cancer free.

Glory to God!

Born Deaf — Now Hearing

Recently, Pastor Miguel prayed for a man who visited the church. He had been born deaf and had relied on a hearing aid.

After prayer, he experienced a dramatic change in his hearing. Since then, he has no longer needed his hearing aid.

We give God all the glory for what He has done.

A Baby Healed

One of the most beautiful reminders of the impact of our ministry happened when a woman came running to one of our Bambelela Centre leaders.

She asked, “Do you remember me?”

She reminded the leader that the women from Bambelela had visited her in hospital through the baby ministry. Her baby had been in Intensive Care, and the women had prayed for her.

The baby was completely healed within three days, and the family was able to go home.

That mother still remembers the people who came to pray for her child when she was in one of the most frightening moments of her life.

The Impact Goes Further

The impact of AfroLatins is not limited to one person or one moment.

When a life is changed, a family can be changed.

When a family is restored, children experience something different.

When someone who has been transformed begins serving others, the impact continues into another generation.

This is why we believe in discipleship, leadership and empowerment alongside practical ministry. We don't simply want to meet a need today. We want to see people discover who they are in Christ, grow in their faith, find purpose and become people who can positively impact others.

From Being Reached to Reaching Others

One of the greatest things we have seen is people who were once being helped becoming people who help others.

People who were once lost are now leaders.

People who once needed prayer are now praying for others.

People who once had no hope are now giving hope to their communities.

The greatest impact is when the person who was reached becomes the person who reaches someone else.

This Is Why We Do What We Do

Every prayer, every conversation, every meal, every visit, every Bible study, every child reached and every person welcomed is an opportunity to see a life transformed.

We may never know the full impact of one act of obedience.

But we have already seen enough to know that changed lives are worth everything.

We are grateful for every person who has prayed, given, served and stood with us. You are part of these stories too.
