AfroLatins is one ministry expressed in two ways.
The Base sends. Bambelela stays.
At The Base, people are discipled, equipped, trained and sent. Through Bambelela, we serve our communities through practical mercy, the Word of God and opportunities for people to grow.
Together, both work towards the same purpose: to know God and make Him known.
The Base is a place where people can grow in their relationship with God, be equipped for ministry and missions, and prepare to serve wherever God calls them.
Our work at The Base includes:
Helping people grow in their relationship with God and learn to live as followers of Jesus.
We welcome teams from different churches, organisations and nations who come to serve alongside us in the communities.
We provide opportunities for people to grow as leaders and develop practical ministry skills.
We gather to worship, pray and seek God together.
The Base is also a place where teams and missionaries can prepare before going into communities and other places where God calls them to serve.
Bambelela is our mercy ministry, where we serve people in need through practical help, the love of Jesus and the hope of the Gospel.
We believe that every person is valuable in the eyes of God and has purpose and potential. Our heart is not simply to meet an immediate need, but to walk alongside people as they discover hope, freedom and a better future.
Our work includes:
Community Devotions
A weekly time of sharing the Word of God with people from the community.
Feeding Programmes
Providing warm meals and food parcels to people and families in need. Through various ministries, we feed approximately 600–700 people each week.
Church
A place where people can come together to worship, hear the Word of God and grow in faith.
Women's Discipleship
Teaching women the Bible, helping them grow in their relationship with God and walking alongside them in everyday life.
Children & Youth Ministry
Teaching children about Jesus through Bible stories, discipleship and fun activities, while also providing a meal.
Baby Ministry
Blessing new mothers and their babies in hospital with practical gifts, prayer and the love of Jesus.
Hospice Outreach
Visiting and encouraging elderly and terminally ill patients through worship, prayer, practical care and companionship.
Community Outreach
Regularly visiting surrounding communities to share the Gospel, feed people, work with children and distribute clothing.
Freedom Ministry
Walking alongside people who are seeking freedom from addiction and destructive lifestyles, encouraging them through the Bible and discipleship as they build a new life.
Counselling & Prayer
Listening to people, praying with them and helping them find hope and direction.
Skills Development
Providing opportunities for people to develop practical skills such as upholstery, sewing, carpentry, welding, gardening and working with chickens.
We do this because we love people and, above all, because we want to be obedient to God.
We want to see people come to know Jesus, find freedom, discover their purpose and develop the skills and confidence to build a better future.
We have seen lives changed — people who were once trapped in addiction, crime and hopelessness are now serving God, working, leading and helping others.
This is why we do what we do.
The harvest is plentiful, and there is always more to do.
Whether you would like to visit, bring a team, volunteer, partner with us, pray or support the work financially, there is a place for you to make a difference.
COME. SEND. GIVE.
